Activities involving FBIE-SIG at the 2013 Annual Conference in St Louis, MO

We designed these activities with an emphasis on getting to know each other better throughout the conference period.

FBIE-MIG OPEN DINNER, MONDAY, at 7 p.m. @ Stefanos

The FBIE-SIG members and friends are invited for an informal dinner, to be held on Monday, May 27 starting at 7 p.m.

This is the time to connect and reconnect with new and veteran colleagues as well as to discuss strategic planning for FBIE-SIG. Whether you are in the FBIE leadership position, students, or just checking out, be sure to join our the dinner to kick off your NAFSA activities.

STUDENTS/MENTOR MEETING, Tuesday, 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. @ America's Center, Room 132

The Students/Mentors Meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 28 at 8 a.m. (see NAFSA Program for location). Some of us will be there to share our wisdom (or lack of it) :) to the new students on getting into the field of International Education as foreign-born. Try to make this meeting, you will find it most helpful! To identify us, look for FBIE-SIG stickers on our name tag, which looks like this:

GET NETWORKED IN NAFSA POSTER FAIR, TUESDAY , 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. @ Poster Fair Area of Expo Hall

Located within the Expo Hall, "Get Networked"is an open house poster session hosted by NAFSA, where Specific Interest Groups will have their own display booths. If you want to find out more about FBIE and other SIG activities, check out the open
house. We are also looking for a few volunteers to staff the "Get Networked" table for one hour or so, either from 9:15-10:15, and from 10-11). Staffing at the "Get Networked" Fair is a great way to meet and greet people while promoting our SIG and occasionally checking out the exhibitors, all at the same time!

FBIE-SIG MEETING, WEDNESDAY, 1:15 p.m. - 2:15 p.m., @ Landmark Ballroom 2

Attend our members' meeting, where we welcome those who are new to our group, inform them who we are and what we do. We will share with you the updates and discuss the direction of FBIE-SIG for the upcoming year (July - June). This is a great place to network with other FBIEs and to incorporate your voices in our future plan.

FBIE-SIG HAPPY HOUR, WEDNESDAY Evening

Join us for a night out (usually going to a baseball game for a relaxing evening). Visit us at the Get Networked Fair for more details, as we will have figured out when and how to get there as a group.
